Outfit deets:
* Forever 21 tank.
* Almost Famous denim shorts.
* Call It Spring sandals (super old, my total favourites & worn to death).
* Ardene fedora & heart-shaped sunnies.

One last outfit from our vacation to Punta Cana last month--I almost forgot I had these photos.  I would have shared more however my bathing suit made an awkward wet mark mid-chest and kind of ruined the photoshoot #vacationproblems.

What are your plans for the weekend?  I have a busy one lined up: tonight I'm hitting the gym with a friend, then some shopping.  Saturday will be spent likely practicing some tennis--I managed to get a 3-hit rally going last night for the first time ever!--and then celebrating my Mom's birthday.  On Sunday I will be spending the day celebrating my good friend's upcoming nuptials at her bridal shower.  Hope you have a great one and happy Memorial Day long weekend to my US readers and friends.

Outfit deets:
* Victoria's Secret bikini top which you saw in Mexico last year.
* Reitmans sweater (new!).
* Colbretti denim cut offs, thrifted & DIY'ed into shorts which you've seen on date night last summer.
* Accessories: G21 shades (yes, from Walmart).

I'm rounding out the last few photos from our vacation to Punta Cana last month.  If I could wear something all the time, it would be something along these lines: shorts & a flowy sweater (or skinny pants and edgy boots).

This week has been a miss mash of stuff, we've had friends over almost every night (one at a time, because that's how we roll, apparently) to catch up and eat.  I've listed--and sold--my shoe and rolling racks.  I've cooked, baked, and vacuumed the condo.  And, the most exciting news of all--and this is serious, 'You need to be grown to get excited for this'--our entertainment unit was delivered and we got a Roomba.

I know.  The things dreams are made of.

Big dreams, guys.  Serious.  Adult.  Dreams.

Happy Thursday!

Outfit deets:
* Sirens feather kimono (new!).
* Sirens sheath tunic (new!).
* Accessories: G21 (Walmart) sunnies).

I threw this on for our last night in Punta Cana to head down to the beach.  The wind was wicked and the kimono was flapping around like crazy.  Most of the pictures are blurry or dimly lit, but these two capture the moment and turned out.

I'm so glad the weekend is finally here!  I spent Friday night making sweet potato wedge fries, then pies and gave myself a pedicure while my guy took in some basketball playoffs on tv.  Friday nights are usually at-home date nights for us--mind you, we're still settling into living together--but it was nice to have some me-time knowing he was just a few steps away.

Today we are spending the day building my closet in the second bedroom and tonight our friends are coming over for dinner!  Aside from that, several episodes of Suits, a bit of filming for my next video and a couple trips to the gym.  Hope you have a great weekend!

Outfit deets:
* Forever 21 chiffon top (old) with Old Navy cami underneath.
* Sirens skort (fits me better than the Zara version did, plus it was a fraction of the price at $15--run and get one as this was a recent purchase and it also comes in white, pink and blue.  Target also has this for $25 in black but didn't fit me as well).
* Accessories:  Sirens necklace & Le Chateau cuff.

Outfit deets:
* Le Chateau top which you've seen last summer with a skirt.
* Bench shorts.
* Shoemint heels which you've seen when they were new and in the outfit photos from my profile pic.
* Accessories:  Expressions necklace from The Bay (a birthday gift from a friend).

Outfit deets:
* Reitmans sweater (new!).
* Vero Moda skirt from Boxing Day shopping.
* Liliana wedges which you've seen once in January when I stayed inside and hosted my best friend's baby shower.
* Accessories:  H&M necklace, Auslini bangle & Ardene clutch (all old).

Outfit deets:
* Dynamite lace top (old).
* Dynamite t-strap cami underneath (new!).
* Sirens skort (new!).
* Shoemint 'Romy' heels.
* Accessories:  Le Cheateau cuff.

Outfit deets:
* H&M tunic tank (old).
* Forever 21 peplum skirt from last summer.
* Le Cheateau wedges.
* Accessories:  Suzy Shier necklace (new!) & Ardene clutch.

Outfit deets:
* Vero Moda top which you've seen with red leather pants.
* Wet Seal shorts (old) which you've seen dressed down a couple years ago & this throwback pic to when I first got them in an almost identical outfit (haha, must have been in my subconscious).
* Liliana wedges.
* Accessories:  Suzy Shier plate necklace (new!) & Aldo sunglasses case used a clutch.

Today I'm sharing some photos from the real camera, but to be honest, between snapping photos on both our phones, and not wanting to lug the 'real camera' around all the time, I feel the majority of my photos were taken on my phone.  As an added bonus they are easily uploaded to Instagram and Facebook and isn't that more fun?

Still, I wanted to try and get some good shots we will have forever, and so, with that said, here are some that you haven't seen, of our week in Punta Cana...

Click for photo overload...

I'm rolling out all my vacation posts this week and next up, Instagram shots!

I know not everyone has Instagram so I wanted to share shots of my vacation I posted on there.  If you already follow me (I'm @acoest1984), you can skip this post and come back tomorrow, but if not, here's a few things you may have missed.

Also, if you do have Instagram, you can find all these photos under our vacation hashtag #acomsppuntacana.

Cheers!

More photos after the jump...

Hello!  I'm back home after a great week in Punta Cana.  It's good to be home but was pretty sad to leave our home-away-from-home of the past week.  It took me a good four-ish days to settle into vacation mode which then felt like it was time to come back;  still wonderful to get away and enjoy some warmth, though.

I'll be sharing vacation photos this week, including iPhone snaps, outfits, and more.  First up, photos from my iPhone--a week recap, if you will.  No explanation necessary, I don't think, I'll just let the photos speak for themselves...

More after the jump...

Hello! Hello! How is everyone's week going?  You didn't think I would go a whole week without checking in from vacation, did you?  Ha, me neither. Blogging is always on my mind and I love sharing and connecting with you all through here so I thought Friday would be the perfect day to stop in with a post from Punta Cana.

This week has been wonderful and relaxing, although I have found myself having a hard time sinking into vacation mode. Might be due to a longer length in between this and my last vacation--I'm out of practice. That said, as the days go by, my pace slows a little more, I breathe a little deeper and savour the moments a little longer. With two days left I better hurry up and relax!

I've been instagramming lots so if you aren't following along, and would like to, I'm @acoest1984.

On Tuesday we did a full day Catamaran excursion, leaving the resort just before 8am ams returning over 11 hours later. Sadly, it was not my favourite thing and it felt so good to get back to the resort. On top of that, I think due to the food and drinks I had off the resort, I ended up feeling pretty yucky on Wednesday. It was super unpleasant so that day was a bit of a wash.

On brighter notes, the resort is amazing and the food is fantastic. The people here are incredibly kind, friendly and accommodating. The pools are massive, the beach is gorgeous and the weather has been great (not great for my hair though, ha!).

I'm sitting here on our second-floor balcony with a view of the ocean and palm trees rustling above. I just ordered room service for the first time: a pre-dinner snack of chicken Caesar salad and am catching up on my favourite YouTube subscriptions (having wifi is awesome) while Marco is having a snooze inside.

Ultimately, I don't want to go home!  I'm trying not to think about the inevitable because the thought of cooking and cleaning again?  Ugh!  Till then though, I'll down several more margaritas, indulge in far too many croissants at breakfast and enjoy the sun from my shaded beach chair since this girl isn't getting a tan. See you Monday!

I started packing around 11pm the night before we left and ended up pulling an all-nighter. Talk about procrastination, but I think I did alright (and we had to be at the airport for 5am).

First up, outfits for dinner. I really wanted to find a sexy dress but to be honest, I'm much more of a separates girl (and didn't have any luck dress shopping).

I started by planning the outfits but quickly realized putting the shoes above helped me plan two outfits per heels. I would have loved to bring more shoes but that's not really an option with weight limits. Four of the outfits are shorts--my jam--and two are skirts.

For jewellery, I kept it fairly simple with statement necklaces and I'll wear the same studs every day and night. I wore a couple bangles on the plane that I can swap in too. The clutch is an oldie but goodie from Ardène that works with mostly everything despite being a print.

I'll be sure to share outfit photos as I wear these.

Shoes (left to right): Shoemint, Le Chateau & Liliana.

This is the fewest bathing suits I've ever packed and I'm kind of happy. Less selection but my absolute favourites, plus I get to wear them more than once.

Top photo (left to right):
* Victoria's Secret top & bottom
* American Eagle top & Victoria's Secret bottom
* Ardène hat

Bottom photo:
* Ardène top & bottom (wore this yesterday)
* Ardène top & Victoria's Secret bottom
* La Vie en Rose hat

For casual day clothes I packed the new overalls, a variety of shorts, the new kimono, a denim jacket (also worn to travel), an open knit sweater & two pairs of flat gladiators. The Converse kicks were worn to travel in and perhaps if we go somewhere off the resort (I'm just excited to rock these newbies outside, finally).

I also packed a couple of black cover ups/dresses for easy access at the beach and pool.

Working out on vacation is something I enjoy since I love eating and drinking and basically just indulging. I forgot to include my gym shoes in this photo but they came with me too. I packed shorts & tanks for the week along with my running skirt.

We are leaving for sunny Punta Cana this morning and I just finished packing, cleaning and getting everything in order.  As I mentioned, I had a helluva time while shopping this past week--it seems when you have things in mind, you cannot find them for the life of you.

All that to say, I spent Saturday running around with Marco doing last minute errands and some shopping, for both of us.  He was quite successful but it wasn't until my final trip out after a few hours of cleaning at home, where I found some items.  I'm so excited I found some vacation-specific pieces--things that I certainly can't wear here for a few more months.

Stay connected with me on Instagram this week (I'm @acoest1984).

Item details after the jump...

I'm so excited to share the news that I'm going to Punta Cana this coming weekend!  Marco is taking me for my birthday and I didn't want to spill the beans until he booked the trip which happened a couple nights ago.

The initial plan was Mexico, but we couldn't find anything that looked like it would be as good as last year's trip, without spending a silly fortune.   Then we came across the new Breathless resort and it was almost a given.  We hesitated for a minute, I think simply to switch our hearts from Mexico to Dominican, and Marco surprised me by booking it.  Woohoo!

I pulled a few things from my closet that I'd like to bring along with me; obviously this isn't everything, but a few key pieces.  As always, I'm going to try and plan outfits and pack in advance so I don't overpack--but when does that ever happen (the answer we are looking for here is never).

Photo details after the jump...
 Wednesday night after some major snowfall--and getting stuck with my car being plowed in--and this massive snowball.

 Thursday morning gym sesh--so unmotivated, but got it in.

After the gym, Marco and I went shopping for some snowboard boots for me and I ended up picking up this red Burton 'Sapphire' model.

That evening was a turkey dinner with a ton of friends.  Everyone brought a dish--I made my Grammy's sweedish potatoes which were a huge hit--and it was a really fun evening.

On Friday, after doing some Black Friday shopping, finishing packing, we finally hit the road in the afternoon.  Since I clogged our weekend, at one point we were playing a silly game (similar to the 1-2-3 tag) to pass the time, which I caught on video:

Outfit deets:  Bench jacket, H&M pants, Spring boots & headband, Club Monaco scarf, Ardene mitts & Aldo cross-body/clutch.

After dinner, I said hello to you all and then we relaxed with a movie.  Our one-bedroom suite was really quaint and cottage-y; I liked having the fire place on anytime we were there (why not!?).

Outfit deets:  TNA jacket (old), Aeropostale scarf, Sirens leggings & Spring boots.

On Saturday morning, after being unable to get a hot breakfast at our hotel, we headed out of the village towards McDonalds for breakfast.  We instead ended up stumbling upon l'Arome cafe--thank you Urbanspoon--and had a delicious breakfast with the most amazing home-made mango-peach jam…
…and were able to purchase a jar of it!  They make it in house and sell it, which I'm so excited about--I don't even eat jam at home normally but I will now!

We got back to our hotel, changed and then it was time to hit the slopes!  Here I am at the top of Mont Tremblant:
I hadn't been snowboarding in several years and was quite apprehensive when we first got to the top--however, like riding a bike, after the first couple runs (which took a while), I got a bit of a groove back and started to feel more comfortable (despite numb feet and sore quads).

Later that evening, we headed out to the Mont Tremblant casino to dine at Altitude--a fine dining restaurant with a beautiful setting…
Outfit deets:  H&M dress (new!), Sirens leggings, Expressions by The Bay necklace, Aldo boots & clutch.

Unfortunately, we ended up having a terrible experience with over cooked food and a smirking manager.  They had to bring my beef tartar three times before the poached egg on top was done right and by the time I got to my steak I had ordered rare and it was done medium-well, it was pretty frustrating.  I definitely wouldn't recommend the spot and we were really, really looking forward to it, sadly.

On Sunday morning we over slept and rushed around to finish filming my upcoming Holiday Lookbook for Place d'Orleans.  I instagrammed a photo of this dress in the fitting room and yep, she came home with me!
Outfit deets:  Le Chateau dress.

On our way home, we stopped at l'Arome cafe again for breakfast as my insistence.

We ended up ordering Chinese food on Sunday evening when we got home--finish the weekend right… right?--and I spent hours editing my video.

And finally, ending the weekend on a super sweet note: Marco got me an iPhone 5S--yipee!  We set it up so I could start using this gold 32GB beauty.  My previous iPhone 5 was 16GB and had no space left because I hate erasing my photos off of it.  That said, I reserved this 5S over two months ago and that's how long it took for it to come--nutso, I know.  Hoorah to it finally being here.

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Hello from Mont Tremblant!

Sorry for the radio silence for the past couple days, things got busy and I needed a bit of a break, to be honest.  The good news is, holidays are here.  Marco and I are taking a mini three-day vacation to the little ski village in Quebec to relax, ski (him) / snowboard (me) & spend some QT together.

We ended up getting a late start today, ran errands, did some Black Friday shopping and eventually hit the road to get here in the late afternoon.  We checked in and our one-bedroom suite is really cute and has a cottage feel to it.  We have a balcony and are super close to all the little shops and restaurants.  We went for dinner tonight at Le Forge for burgers & chilli while we sat looking out at the mountain.

Tomorrow we plan on hitting the slopes so I'm hoping for some mild weather because we are both big wimps when it comes to the cold!  I have been vlogging since we left so I'll have a video recap of our weekend once we're back.

Have a great weekend!
